October Empties …

Hi guys,

I have got through a LOT of product in the last couple of months as an effort to use up my stash rather than go out and buy a ridiculous amount of products. Although I am still buying some stuff – new products & replacements – I am making a conscious effort to use up as much as possible.

It’s been quite nice to use new and different products too!

Rimmel Wake me up concealer £6.49 – here*

Fab coverage, long lasting and is absolutely perfect for your under the eyes more so than blemish coverage. I used this in conjuction with the wake me up foundation and it worked perfectly together. It was previously featured here. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer £4.19 – here*

I have waxed on about this one enough and to be fair, should probably just say it is going to be in all of empties posts from now on! This is a superb concealer, buy it if you haven’t. Would I repurchase? I think I have about seven in my stash – once used up I will then buy more! I have talked about this one here, here and here.

Revlon Colourstay Brow Pencil £6.99 – here*

This is such a good brow product. Value for money wise – it is double ended so you get the push up stick one end and the other is a brushed end perfect for brushing through your brows and blending in the pencil. You get colour coverage and it doesn’t smudge easily like some other pencils. My only downside is that it isn’t a pencil you can sharpen, so I don’t get a lot of use out of them – I am too heavy handed. However, for the price – I can’t really complain! Would I repurchase? Yes!

Avon True Colour brow pencil £3.00 on sale – here

I have two of these here – pictured centre & right at the end – old and new packaging. Again, with my brow pencils – these have the push up style which is not my favourite – colour match wise it works really well and it is very blendable. My only drawback on these pencils is that sometimes the pencil breaks off a little so you end up with a little lump on your eyebrow. Not great with little time to get ready. However, great price when they are on sale so if you can put up with it’s drawbacks, it’s a winner. Would I repurchase? Yes.

W7 Twist & Shape Brow Pencil £1.99 – here*

Super cheap eyebrow pencil. This is a double ended stick, similar to the Revlon pencil. It has the twist push up end and a spool type brush at the other end. I love the spoolie bit (best bit of the pencil) but I am not the biggest fan of the pencil. I find it goes on lovely and lasts the day, but it is so hard to blend. I have quite an oily t zone so combined with this, it doesn’t give me the best finish. Maybe if you don’t have an oily face, it may work for you? Worth a punt for £1.99. Would I repurchase? No.

Johnson’s face wipes £1.55 – here*

I am not going to wax on for days about face wipes but these are a good choice. They are moisturising, remove the makeup you need to and when you get them half price (like above) they are a better deal. They do leave your face super soft and that for me is a bonus as I find some really drying. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Boots cleansing wipes £1.00 – here

Run of the mill basic wipes from Boots but super affordable, remove your makeup to a good level before cleansing and great to have around for spillages on the dressing table. They are definitely great for on a budget and I tend to take extras with me on holiday due to the low price. Would I repurchase? Yes.

St Tropez bronzing mousse £24.99 – here*

I got this bronzing mousse in this kit here* but I am specifically talking about the mousse. This is THE best tan I have ever used. Especially used in conjunction with other st tropez products. I didn’t get any streaks, it smelled good (not that horrible biscuit smell) and it is so easy to apply. Because it is a mousse, you just need to blend it in with the tanning mitt. It does dry quite quickly so you do need to blend and keep blending. You get a couple of days of really strong tan and then it fades a little. When you get to the end of the tan, you just exfoliate it all off and start over again! I did also see it in this kit here*  which would make an amazing xmas pressie! Would I repurchase? Yes.

Collection Lasting Perfection Powder £4.19 – here*

Another product from Collection – I did buy this because I like to try all of the products from the same range and as I am such a fan of the collection concealer and foundation – I gave it a whirl. I have oily skin and so for me, this powder was perfect. It did last quite a long time (longer than a lot of other more expensive face powders) and I found I only needed to retouch if I was going somewhere straight after work. It also didn’t cling too much to the drier parts of my face so definitely an all round winner – used with the foundation and concealer is a great day to day product base for me. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Maybelline Matte Maker £3.99 – here*

Great product in great mix of colours – I find sometimes that powder can be a little orangey on me but this was a really good colour. It had an even coverage too. However, my only downfall with the product was that it didn’t keep me very matte for very long. Now, I do mix my different primers etc and I did try this with a few different types but this product just didn’t do what I wanted it to. Would I repurchase? No.

Loreal Infallible 24 hour foundation – £10.99 here*

Loreal is one of my favourite brands and there isn’t a lot that disappoints me with the brand and this wasn’t an exception. It isn’t my favourite but it gives you great coverage and does tend to last longer (not sure for 24 hours though). I find this great to cover up some really poor blemishes or hangover skin. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Gok Wan Body lotion with Rosehip oil – try Ebay!

Gok Wan body lotion is from an age ago so when i discovered some unopened body lotion I was thrilled! The scent is lovely and is really moisturising – it is a shame we don’t get these products any longer from Gok but you can pick some up still on Ebay!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo – £3 here*

I bought this shampoo as the promises made on the bottle where that it was an ultra smoother and it didn’t really do anything for me. It was only £1 as I picked it up from a poundshop haul. However, I can’t fault any of the ultimate blends shampoos and conditioners because I always get a nice look to my hair and they smell amazing. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Loreal Fibrology Air Dry Shampoo – £3.99 here*

I have previously spoke about this product here. I also reviewed the other products in the range. This is definitely a number one purchase for me. It refreshes, gives your hair a little boost and doesn’t leave you with sticky white hair that refuses to blend in. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Sure deodorant – £2.10 here

This is probably another one that shouldn’t really appear in my empties as it is usually there each time but Sure is one of my fave products and I will definitely continue to buy it over and over again. So I will definitely repurchase this one.

Have you tried any of these?

Let me know, Rachael xox

  1. Hey Rachael, I tried reaching you some time ago about a collab but never heard anything back to you. Thought I’d try again via the comments as my mail perhaps didn’t reach you. If you’re open for collabs I’d love to get in touch with you. Feel free to write directly to my email laura@blogerize.com if you’re interested. Thanks 🙂
