I have put together a beauty favourites for 2017 – this is basically the products I have reached for/used a lot/used up or have recommended to friends or family. They are products that I would reach for again and all are super affordable!
PS Mascaras – priced at £2 & £3 each. These mascaras are from Primark and they do lots of different types with different brushes, but these are my faves. They are the PS waterproof mascara and the Lash contour mascara – I actually use both of these together. I did feature them in this post here. I usually start with the waterproof mascara as this is the bigger brush. This helps to give some thickness and colour. The lash contour then helps me get the lift I need on my lashes. I have been having LVL treatment – so when I get this done – I usually just use the waterproof for the thickness.
Nyx Wonder Stick – £10.50. This product is ideal if like me, you are bone idle and have no idea what you are doing with highlight or contouring! One end is the darker for contouring and the other is the lighter for the highlight. I just draw the lines where I want them and then blend it in with my face brush.
Neutrogena moisturiser – £4.99 – love this moisturiser. I have purchased this quite a few times now. It has a zesty feel to it which really wakes you up on a morning. It leaves my face feeling quenched and in good condition for the rest of the day. Any dry patches i have disappear too.
Benefit Porefessional – £10.50 – This primer balm is such a good product. You can buy it in this size and the full size version too. Benefit products are so good and even though the prices are really high, for me some of the products are worth it. This primer is one of the only ones that keep my tzone oil free by the end of the day. I find using it helps my makeup to stay in place for the rest of the day too.
Collection Bronze Glow Matt – £2.99 – This is a product I have used for years. I don’t often wear bronzer, preferring to use contour stick and blush to add colour to my face but if I have a tan (or fake tan) I generally use this. It is extremely pigmented and blends really well. You can get it in the shimmer version but I tend to stick with matt.
Rimmel Lasting Perfection Concealer – £5.49 – I adore this product. It is so good at covering up the bags under my eyes. I don’t tend to use it for blemishes as I find because the concealer is thick and creamy, it adds to the blemish rather than hide it. But, if like me, you have terrible eye area, then you can use this to cover it up.
Rimmel Wake me up concealer – £5.49 – An amazing product – I do adore Rimmel! This concealer is superb also at covering up your under eye but I tend to use this for blemishes. I think because it has the wand applicator it is easier to use for this type of coverage. Lasts all day and really does brighten up your face.
Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner – £2.99 – This is super easy to use – rather than a stubby pen, it is a small quite fixed brush that you literally just stroke along the upper eyelid (or wherever you want to use it). Even for people like me who have zero hand-eye co-ordination, this product is so easy to use and stays put all day. I have tried endless amounts of liquid eyeliners, but this is the one I come back to time and time again.
Avon Colortrend eyeliner – £2.00 – This eyeliner is just a kohl eyeliner and is usually around the £2 – £4 mark from Avon, depending on their current promotions. I have used it for years and although they occasionally update the packaging, the pencil itself stays the same. It is so dark and pigmented and really does last til you roll home at four in the morning. This is a top product for me, especially considering it is marketed in the teenager range.
Make Up Gallery Feeling Blush Blusher – £1.00 – Poundland – I did a post a while back testing the poundland products and while I loved quite a few of them, my favourite by far was this blusher. It adds a lovely rose glow to your cheeks without being too heavy. This is definitely something I would try again & maybe try different shades too!
So that is it for my beauty roundup of the year .. have you got any top picks for budget beauty products in 2017?
